Over the past 23 years there have been 2,685 sales over $1,000,000 in the National Capital Region with new numbers being added daily.
193 of those sales have been over $2,000,000. It’s hard to believe there were homes sold for over that much in Ottawa back in 1996, but it’s true!
34 have been over $3,000,000 and 6 over $4,000,000!
In this article we will go over the most expensive, high-class neighbourhoods in Ottawa.

#10 – Manotick Village & Manotick Estates

This neighbourhood is located just West of Long Island in Manotick. The borderlines are between Rideau Valley Drive, Century Road East, First Line Road and Prince of Wales Drive. Click for directions.

Featuring tons of amenities just a short drive away. Groceries, shopping and entertainment are located in the villages of Manotick and Barrhaven.
The location can’t be beat with easy access to the 416 highway. This neighbourhood is less than a half hour drive to downtown Ottawa.
You also have the Rideau River that runs through Manotick with some gorgeous waterfront homes.

#9 – Greely

This suburban paradise is only a 30-minute drive to downtown Ottawa. Featuring lush landscaping and large lots, the homes in Greely are really something to talk about!
With plenty of golf clubs nearby, you can golf every night while enjoying the relaxing nature around you.
The town of Greely offers a grocery store, a little bit of shopping as well as some great restaurants! The town of Metcalfe is also nearby, so you can take your pick of which town to go to for dinner!
#8 – Westboro

With roughly 90% of the homes in Westboro being built after 2004, the homes in this neighbourhood are contemporary and stylish.
The detached and semi-detached styles make the homes in this neighbourhood quite diverse. With lots of trendy shops and restaurants in Westboro, it is very popular among the younger demographic.
Less than a 15 minute drive to downtown and only a short walk to Ottawa River walking paths, this location is beyond compare

The highest sale sits at $3 million.

With a mixture of homes ranging from the 1920’s to brand new, the diversity of homes in Ottawa West is quite vast.
These homes are located in an ideal location with less than a 10 minute drive to downtown.
The LRT line has really caused the homes in this area to skyrocket in value over the past few years. This is also making this area more accessible and desirable to younger families working downtown.

#3 – McKellar / Highland Park

With 132 sales over $1,000,000 since 2008, McKellar Park has been one of Ottawa’s most luxurious neighbourhoods for the past 11 years.
The highest sale sits at just over $2.5 million.

McKellar Park is an established neighbourhood yielding stately homes mainly built before the 2000s.

#2 – The Glebe

This prestigious neighbourhood boasts magnificent vistas of the Rideau Canal and Dow’s Lake. Jutting from the canal are two small bodies of water. Patterson Creek and Brown’s Inlet, these areas are surrounded by parks and some of the cities most expensive homes.
The homes in The Glebe are much more historic than those in many of the other Ottawa neighbourhoods. Over 75% of the homes sold were built before year 2000. Rockcliffe Park is Ottawa’s most luxurious neighbourhood by far! These distinguished homes incorporate extensive square footage on manicured lots all contained within a beautiful, park-like setting. Some of the homes feature scenes of the Ottawa River, while others gaze across NCC Parkland.
The entire village is designated as a Heritage Conservation District and is one of only a handful of surviving 19th century communities of its kind in North America. Some of the homes in Rockcliffe Park date back to before the 1900’s. Many Embassies call this neighbourhood home.
Rockcliffe Park is like a city of its own with a private lake and private schools, all within a short 10 minute drive to downtown.
