Very unique space, very intimate, you will feel relaxed and completely renewed after a stay at the greenhouse. Ideal for those trying to get out of the city without being too far from it.
If there are several travellers, things can get tight when the fold-out futon is opened out.
Please note that the greenhouse has a composting toilet only, we will need access to the greenhouse possibly once or twice during your stay to empty the reservoir possibly.
The ”washroom” is separated from the rest of the greenhouse by curtains only, it, therefore, offers a chance to get real intimate with whoever is occupying the space.
Lastly, the greenhouse will not be tropical in the colder months seeing as we live in a northern climate and that it is pretty much all glass. Therefore, expect to have to use all the space heaters and blankets provided at night to stay warm and toasty. The same goes for the Summer months with respect to heat, you will have to leave the windows open and use the fans to allow the place to cool down as it will heat up during the day, especially if you leave the curtains open. The adjacent Summer kitchen (see photos with the bar) is not heated, you may need to use a jacket to keep warm while using this space in October and April.

You will find your cabin already warmed up when you arrive and you will keep it warm yourself by tending a beautiful, mini, glass-doored, woodstove. Many an hour can be spent just gazing into a warm fire.
When you arrive, you can park at our 100-year-old farmstead and then enjoy a beautiful, 10-minute walk to your site (We are happy to bring in your supplies loaded in our mini-tractors little, red, wagon, if a check-in happens while we are here). This pathway may be a bit slushy or icy but is kept clear of fallen snow.
There isn’t running water in the cabin but we are happy to provide you as much tasty well water that you would like for cooking/drinking/cleaning. We are ready to top up your water supply daily, as you need it.
There are dishes, pots and pans, and other basic food-prep-type equipment for your use. There is an area inside to prepare food that doesn’t need cooking or to make ready food that is going to be cooked outside on our grill or propane stove. A cooler is available to store any perishable food you may have. In most cases, the cooler can be kept at a proper temperature by moving it in and out of the deep freeze that is the Canadian outdoors. Or, you can bring ice if you prefer.
