The Ottawa Valley stretches over 7,645 kilometres, as far west as Mattawa all the way to Arnprior. A few notable towns in the valley include Calabogie, Bancroft, Barry’s Bay, Pakenham, Pembroke and Perth. There are lots of awesome lakes including White Lake, Lake Dore, Golden Lake, Bark Lake, Weslemkoon Lake and Calabogie Lake. Rivers include the Ottawa River, Bonnechere River and the Madawaska. If you are looking for a waterfront stay with rustic charm, you have to check out Opeongo Mountain Resort! This resort is situated on the beautiful Lake Clear just outside of Eganville. The resort offers two and three-bedroom cottages with modern washrooms, full-sized refrigerators, microwave ovens and coffee makers and a screened-in porch. If you have a trailer, you can also bring it to the resort to stay at. Each site comes with water, sewer and hydro hookup. You can even bring your pooch along to this dog-friendly resort! There is great fishing here at Lake Clear and the resort also offers fishing licenses for those who do not have one. The resort also offers boat rentals from their private marina.

Travellers who love nature and the great outdoors will love a vacation at the pet-friendly Mattawa River Resort! This waterfront stay offers 12 cozy cottages of various sizes ranging from 2 guests all the way to 16! Each cottage comes with a BBQ, outdoor seating, kitchen or kitchenette, private bathrooms and a deck. The Directeur Cottage even has its own 4 piece jacuzzi! The resort has been featured on the show “Cardinal” as well as Bob Izumi’s “Real Fishing” series. The resort also offers a campsite where you can bring a trailer to camp at. The Bayview Lodge Resort is nestled on the shores of White Lake only 30 minutes west of Kanata. The lodge features seasonal and short-term campsites as well as cottages. There are 12 cottages and 4 chalets available to rent. Each cottage has waterfront views and can accommodate 4-6 persons comfortably. The cottages have full kitchens and bathrooms as well as BBQs, decks and firepits. The 4 spacious chalets can occupy 5-7 people. Each campsite comes with a hydro, water and sewer hookups for your convenience. White Lake offers awesome swimming and boating as well as great fishing including bass, northern pike, walleye, perch and bluegill.

Situated along the sandy shores of Bark Lake, Sunny Hill Resort offers waterfront cottages 13 waterfront cottages accommodating anywhere from 2-10 people. The cottages are fully furnished and each come with their own BBQ and firepit. There is also a campground so you can bring your trailer if you desire! Each campsite comes with full 30 amp service. As with many Ottawa Valley accommodations, the fishing is also incredible here at Bark Lake, so be sure to bring your rod and reel!

Wilderness Tours brings you their offsite resort – the Whitewater Cottages. Located on the shores of the stunning Ottawa River and less than a 15-minute drive to the main Whitewater Park Village. The waterfront stay offers 6 beautiful cottages that sleep between 4-12 people. From the rustic cedar cabin all the way up to the luxurious log cabin or lake house. These awesome cottages are where you can stay during your white water rafting adventure tour! Round Lake Resort offers 6 cottages that can accommodate between 2-6 guests. These log cabins are all equipped with full-sized kitchens, gas BBQs, decks, firepits (with campfire wood provided) and each has its own private deck. All linens and towels are provided so you can just pack the car and show up! Enjoy swimming in the sandy waters, fishing off the end of the dock and beautiful sunsets over the water. There are even live chickens at the resort for you to pet and enjoy fresh eggs for breakfast!

Sylvania Lodge offers 4 budget-friendly 2 bedroom cabins. 2 of the 4 cabins are waterfront and 2 are not, however you can still enjoy access to the sandy beach and docks. Each cabin has its own deck or patio, gas BBQ, firepit, patio furniture and full-sized picnic table. You will need to bring your own bedding and linens. There is also a campground at the lodge where you can bring your RV for the summer. Each site comes with 30 amp electric service. The Dalhousie Lake Restaurant is also located onsite where you can enjoy delicious Canadian and Chinese food.
